Maria Atoaga

How long have you been with the company?
Maria:  Five years.

What do you love about your job?
Maria: Part of my culture is to help out with the vulnerable people and it is the reason why I love this job. I have been given this opportunity to do that and at the same time providing the service that meets the need of our customers, in terms of empowering and encouraging them to live independently.

What are your hobbies?
Maria:  Cooking and baking.

A favourite or most embarrassing moment from the last 12 months.
Maria:  I went to the airport to pick up my sister from overseas, and after an hour I realised I was in the Domestic instead of International airport. I had to pick up my sister from her friends place.

Who is your Inspiration?
Maria:  MY DAD.  My Dad was a down to earth person, always kind to those around him and worked hard all his life. The number one thing he had taught me was work ethic.

Likes making a difference

How long have you been with the company?
Taki:  15 months.

What do you love about your job?
Taki:  The ability to use your skills to support the clients.  Seeing the clients happy and making a difference to their lives. I’m a part of an awesome team – we work really well together and that makes for a really positive work environment.

What are your hobbies?
Taki:  Fishing, golf, watching sports on the television.

A favourite or most embarrassing moment from the last 12 months.
Taki:  I was invited to play golf with some business men.  On the final hole I’m focused and about to putt out – my shorts start to fall down and they end up around my ankles. The guys burst into laughter but like a true golfer I remained focused and completed my putt to their applause and I then pulled my shorts up and apologised to everyone.  It was a ha ha moment!

Who is your inspiration?
Taki:  My mother in law is my inspiration because she is wise, caring, positive and always has a smile for everyone.
